CENTRAL OFFICES -- Welcome to The NJS.com Audio Spotlight.
Joining us today are Mickey and Shooter Hunt, the father and
son attached to Ramapo High School. Mickey is the head baseball
coach and assistant to Joe DelBuono during the hoops season. Shooter
is a 2005 graduate who was a standout basketball player (who
scored 33 points in the 2005 Group 3 state semifinals)
when he wasn't dominating on the baseball diamond.
Shooter
was the 2005 Gatorade Player of the Year in New Jersey, transferred
to Tulane after a season at the University of Virginia and was
drafted 31st by the Minnesota Twins in the 2008 Major League
Baseball draft. Shooter, a right-handed pitcher, will be in big
league spring training in a couple of months, but not before stopping
by to update us on life as a newly minted professional baseball
player.
We
talk old school North Jersey hoops, baseball memories and future
plans and a little bit about the upcoming hoops season that Ramapo
will kick off on Friday night when it pays a visit to Old Tappan.
